TITLE: Director of Sales, Bakery Food Service

REPORTS TO: SVP/GM Flour

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Director of Sales, Bakery Food Service, has primary responsibility and accountability for sales and Bakery Food Service division profitability. They lead the division using a team approach, striving to foster a sense of company oneness and in an atmosphere which encourages growth and input from all. Through participation on various teams, they have a responsibility to contribute to guiding the overall company vision, long-term strategic planning. They will strive to uphold the ideals expressed in the company mission and values statement.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:
 

Sales Management:

· Responsibilities include strategy, sales planning, distributor management, and setting and achieving sales goals.

· Creates the overall strategy and sales planning for the division, plans for existing markets and plans and entry into new markets.

· Responsible for the growth and success of each Regional Sales Manager.

· In the area of distributor management, this person strives to build and have in place a network of distributors that are of a character and ability to accurately and honestly represent the interests of the company, its values and goals.

· Manages the distributors with a participatory style, allowing for much input into the planning process and has an ongoing responsibility to train and educate them about our business.

· Represents the company in the trade and should strive to build solid relationships based on trust and respect.
 

Fiscal Management:

· Responsibilities include budgeting, controlling costs, building sound operating systems and achieving budget goals in sales, gross profit and EBITDA.

· Prepares the division budget and insures that sound systems are in place in the areas of invoicing, deduction handling, monitoring of advertisings costs, etc.

· Strives to control costs, build efficiency and achieve the overall budget goals. 
 

Operational Management:

· Develops and fosters ongoing relationship with our partner mills and facilities across the country as it pertains to Bakery Food Service.

· Looks for new products and services to introduce to our customers , while working in concert with our New Business Development Director.


Teamwork:

· Participates on the Sales/Ops Team.

· Will serve as a coach to other individuals in the company.

· Overall maintains good communication with internal and external customers, strive to foster a sense of oneness within the company, help to motivate and grow others and strive to implement the concepts of total quality management in a team environment.
 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints.

· Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

· Ability to execute short term, yet plan and strategize for the long term.

· Ability to get involved with the day-to-day details as well as the big picture

· Exemplary people management skills, experience in forging great teams.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.

· Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time.

· Ability to maintain a composed and professional demeanor within a flexible and (at times noisy) work environment.

· Must be able to travel domestically and internationally utilizing various transportation methods.
 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelors Degree plus 7+ years experience in field of sales management

· Ten plus years bakery and/or bakery distributor management experience
