King Soopers supermarkets this week debuted the "Cake Boss" line of celebration and dessert cakes from Buddy Valastro, star of TLC's "Cake Boss" and owner of Carlos Bakery in Hoboken, N.J.

King Soopers' parent company, the Kroger Co., has become the first national retailer to carry the Cake Boss line. King Soopers will carry two of the six cakes available in the line: the Badda Bloom and the It's My Party.

Earlier this year, Valastro and Dawn Foods struck a deal to manufacture and distribute the cake line inspired by the show, which is now in its fifth season. Valastro unveiled the line at the International Dairy-Deli-Bake Association's Dairy-Deli-Bake show this summer.

The now tourist destination Carlos Bakery escaped damage from Hurricane Sandy although it was forced to shut down for several days due to lack of power.

"Hoboken is in my heart, and I'm devastated to see the city suffer like this--but know we'll all come back stronger than ever," Valastro said in a statement released Nov. 1. "Me, my family, and the entire Carlo's Bakery crew extend our thoughts and prayers to everyone impacted by the hurricane. The bakery team is accounted for and safe, and are working together to help each other out."
